MID-SUMMER PRAYER REQUESTS
For this NAB UPDATE, we would like to ask you to intercede for three mid-summer prayer requests.
First, approximately 550 middle school and high school students traveling from NAB churches all over the U.S. and Canada have converged in Orange, California, for YG14 (Youth Gathering 2014). Each day, these students disperse into various communities and neighborhoods in the region to participate in serving through a variety of projects. Each evening, the students gather at Chapman University for worship and teaching. Pray that God would use this gathering of NAB students to transform them and help them learn to be stronger disciples of Jesus. Also pray that the service projects they participate in will create long-term ministry opportunities with the communities.
Second, NAB regional ministers and the International Office executive team members are meeting this week. Together, they are spending time in prayer, listening to God’s voice and seeking to discern his will for the future direction of NAB. Ask God to create a real sense of community within these groups of NAB leaders and to speak clearly as they seek his face.
Third, Gregg Evans, NAB volunteer field director for our Philippines ministries, recently sent this message to the International Office regarding the Bicol Center for Christian Leadership (BCCL):
"Legazpi City and BCCL took an almost direct hit from the recent typhoon. Electricity, water, and internet are still awaiting restoration, but staff is WORKING HARD to clean up and prepare for classes to resume. Prayers requested!"
Pray for Mayette Ativo-Bueno and the other staff and students connected to the school. Ask God to provide them safety, as well as opportunities to use this most recent typhoon as an avenue to reach others with the gospel of Christ.
