NAB UPDATE - September 25, 2012
This last week, both Calvin and Susie Hohn, missionaries in Cameroon, and Chris and Ingrid Kidd, missionaries in Brazil, were at the International Office to spend time debriefing and planning with Norm Poehlke. From the reports given by both of these couples, NAB missionaries in both Cameroon and Brazil are serving God faithfully and seeing fruit from their Spirit led efforts.
On September 14 and 15, Norm Poehlke and Pastor Dana Goodnough were in Brazil to take approximately 175 pastors and leaders through leadership development materials by Equip called the “Million Leader Mandate.” The leadership development event’s advertising was primarily focused on the pastors, leaders and church planters of the southernmost state of Brazil (Rio Grande Do Sul). Incredibly though, pastors and leaders also came from the five surrounding states. While some drove twelve hours through the night to attend, others flew in from as far away as Rio De Janeiro. These leaders were so hungry for training. Norm and Dana had numerous requests to repeat this training in other states. NAB’s leadership development commitment in Brazil is to present three years of training, focusing on one Equip book every six months. Pastor Dana Goodnough, Norm Poehlke and Rob McCleland will facilitate this effort over the next three years.
The International Office celebrated the opening our new offices in Roseville by hosting an open house for pastors and church leaders from the Northern California Association. Nearly sixty individuals attended the event. Steve Kellar, regional minister for the Northern California Association, attended and was kept busy grilling food for the guests. Below are pictures of the event.
