Pastor – Folsomdale Baptist Church
Our current pastor has retired, and we are seeking a new pastor to lead our congregation as we grow in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are a friendly, committed body of believers who truly care about each other and our community. Our Mission Statement is: “To Glorify God by winning souls for Christ, training and equipping believers in the word of God, ministering to the needs of the saints and showing the love of Christ in every endeavor.” We are excited about the future of our ministry and are confident that the Lord will continue to strengthen us as he uses Folsomdale Baptist Church for His honor and glory.
Requirements and Qualifications
A seminary or biblical degree is required. Previous pastoral experience is preferred. The age range is flexible. Bible-centered preaching is a priority. Responsibilities also include teaching, guiding the spiritual development of the congregation, providing pastoral care in meeting the needs of persons in the church and community, and administrative leadership. He should set a good example of Christian living and be able to perform the church ordinances of Baptism and Communion, conduct funeral services and weddings, and do all this with compassion and wisdom.
Our church is located about 25 miles from Buffalo, New York, in Cowlesville, Wyoming County, a rural community of about 1,500. We are in the Attica School District, which is located about 10 miles from our church and serves about 2,500 students. The nearest Christian schools, both serving K-12, are the West Seneca Christian School, 22 miles from the church, with 108 students, and Central Baptist Christian School in Delevan, 21 miles from church, with 137.
We are affiliated with the North American Baptist Conference; however, we are an autonomous local church.
The primary emphasis in the church is to win the lost and nurture their spiritual growth. Our church administration functions with a board of Deacons and a board of Trustees. We are debt free and have well-maintained facilities. A 260-seat sanctuary and a Sunday School addition were built onto the original church building, which now serves as the foyer. The three bedroom parsonage is on the same seven-acre parcel of property. At the present time, neither our website or Facebook page have been updated with the job opening.
