Lead Pastor – Grace Baptist Church

Grace Baptist Church in Grand Forks, North Dakota, is seeking a lead pastor who will lead us in carrying out God’s purpose and mission for His church. Grace Baptist Church believes that the primary purpose of His church is to reach the world for Jesus Christ (Matt. 28:18–20). The mission of Grace Baptist Church is to reach our community for Christ through living by faith, proclaiming the Gospel, making fully devoted disciples, and showing Christ’s love in action to those around us. Responsibilities of the lead pastor will include:

1. Provide spiritual leadership to the congregation through biblically sound preaching, discipleship, and exemplifying godly character.
2. Demonstrate competency and excellence in the study of the scriptures, church leadership and organization, and equipping people to be disciples.
3. Preach and teach God’s Word with the purpose of individual and corporate spiritual growth and maturity in Christ.
4. Provide primary oversight of all pastoral and support staff members.
5. Shepherd and provide directional leadership to the church in cooperation with the Board of Elders.
6. Serve as the ex-officio advisory member of all boards, committees, and ministry teams of the church.

Requirements and Qualifications

Education:

• Master of Divinity degree or Master of Theology/Theological Studies degree or an equivalent degree from an accredited theological school

Experience:

• Ordained or eligible for ordination in accordance with North American Baptist Conference Credentialing Guidelines for Ordination and Licensure
• 10 years total ministry experience
• 1 to 3 years Lead Pastor experience in a multi-ministry staff environment

 
The lead pastor must also be agreement with the North American Baptist Conference Statement of Beliefs and Code of Ministerial Ethics.
