Special Notes

Article II Declaration of Faith

We affirm our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ for our salvation and believe in those great principles for which Baptists have and lived and died, such as:

  1. The revelation of God through Jesus Christ as only Savior and Lord. Hebrews 1:1–4
  2. The inspired authority of the Scriptures in matters of faith and conduct. 2 Timothy 3:16–17
  3. The proclamation of the Gospel throughout all the world. Matthew 28:19–20
  4. Regenerated church membership. Acts 2:38–42
  5. Believer’s baptism by immersion. Romans 6:3–5, Mark 1:8–10
  6. Soul Liberty. 2 Corinthians 3:17
  7. We believe marriage is a monogamous, heterosexual union instituted and ordained by God (Genesis 2:18–25, Ephesians 5:22–33). As such, it is to be an exclusive covenant union of one man and one woman for the purpose of a lifetime of mutual commitment and companionship. A civil government’s sanction of a union will be recognized as a legitimate marriage by this church only to the extent that it is consistent with this belief.
