SUMMARY:Fit Assessment: August 2026
DESCRIPTION:What is Fit Assessment? \nNAB’s Fit Assessment is a multi-step process that delivers insights to any current or potential missionary\, church planter\, or revitalization pastor\, reporting on their “fit” for the ministry they are endeavoring to engage. Read more about our proven methods and tools here. \nIf you’re interested in beginning the Fit Assessment process\, your first step is completing the online application\, either in English or in Spanish. \n  \nIs there an in-person component of Fit Assessment? \nTo complete the NAB Fit Assessment\, candidates meet together for a multi-day\, in-person experience hosted by a diversity of trained leaders. These three days together help us communally discern your best next step. \n  \nThere is an upcoming Fit Assessment taking place August 11–13 in Medina\, Ohio (outside Cleveland). \nContact Carissa Steinhart with any questions!

SUMMARY:Year of Equipping
DESCRIPTION:apply for year of equipping\n \nYear of Equipping consists of three modules\, each comprised of two Zoom calls and one in-person meeting\, in which we read and process the missional character of God\, our formation as we join him on mission\, and the ways we live into this identity as a community of God’s people on mission. \nThe first session is in September and will be online. The first in-person gathering will take place in October. \nWe are seeking younger leaders – those between the ages of 20 and 40 – to participate in this cohort. \nIf you are interested\, or you know someone who might be\, reach out to Wayne Stapleton. \nThe deadline for applications is August 15\, but the entire cohort takes place over a nine-month period beginning in September.\n  \nemail wayne

SUMMARY:Sending Church Cohort - Fall 2026
DESCRIPTION:The NAB’s Sending Church Cohort is a peer-led cohort that meets twice in one year on location at two of our sending churches to learn from their triumphs and mistakes in sending out multipliers. Stu Streeter\, VP of Church Multiplication and Ministry Advancement\, hosts the gathering\, but the core of training\, discussion\, and workshopping is led by the pastors and leaders of the host churches. This is an opportunity to learn at the feet of NAB leaders who are actively sending out church plants\, campus launches\, and revitalization efforts. \nThe first gathering of this year’s Sending Church Cohort took place in Fargo\, North Dakota\, in April\, where we learned from Pastor Jake Peterson of River City Church\, who is working alongside Jackson Hankey to plant a new congregation in Grand Forks\, North Dakota. \nThe second gathering\, which takes place September 15–16 in Edmonton\, Alberta\, will be led by Pastor Jeremy Putz of Central Baptist\, which has used the multi-site model to great effect in their city. Currently\, they are working on their fourth and fifth sites in the area. Their fourth site\, which is set to launch this year\, is an extraordinary story of a downtown historic site that sat largely empty for sometime. They are set to revive the space and the downtown life in the process. \nWe are so committed to the process that the NAB International Office covers all the cost of the cohort once you arrive in the host city. Simply\, let us know you’re coming through the link below\, and who you are bringing from your church to learn with you\, and we will take it from there. If you need more than two hotel rooms for your church’s representatives\, please reach out soon so we can explore options with you. \ni’m interested in attending the cohort

SUMMARY:Reframe: Equipping Your Congregation for Evangelism
DESCRIPTION:Reframe is a four-week\, online training for pastors and leaders to help you assess your congregation’s evangelism readiness. This training will provide an evaluative framework to help you to recognize gaps you may need to fill and distortions you will want to correct\, and it will provide a clearer path forward toward helping your church become more evangelistically faithful. \nReframe is not a training that will focus on how to better do evangelism but instead will focus on how to be evangelistic. \n\nHow well equipped is your congregation for the ministry of evangelism?\nHow do you evaluate your church’s health in that regard?\nHow would you identify equipping gaps in your congregation’s evangelistic faithfulness?\n\n \nEach training consists of an online\, 90-minute session that will take place across four consecutive Wednesdays starting September 16. \nDates: September 16\, 23\, & 30; October 7 (Wednesdays) \nTime: 10:00–11:30 a.m. (Pacific) \nTraining is free for NAB ministry leaders. For more information\, connect with Deb Judas. \n\n\n \n \n Reframe Workshop\n Four-week online training to help you assess your evangelistic equipping efforts. \n \n InstagramThis field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.Name(Required)\n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n \n Email(Required)\n \n Enter Email\n \n \n \n Confirm Email\n \n \n \n ChurchMinistry RoleLocationInclude your city and state/province.\n Submit \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Δ

SUMMARY:International Missions Pop-Up
DESCRIPTION:Southeastern South Dakota and Northwest Iowa churches of the NAB are cordially invited to an International Mission Pop-Up. This event is for all ages! \nExperience an evening of engaging conversation and connections around international missions. Hear from NAB missionaries Brandon and Marci Jones from Brazil and Shan Reed\, NAB mobilization director and former NAB missionary to Japan. \nIt can be easy for our churches to feel isolated or as if what we do doesn’t seem to make any kind of global impact\, particularly when it comes to the Kingdom efforts regarding international missions. This Pop-Up will help your church grasp the larger picture of NAB International Missions\, help connect you with other local NAB churches who share a similar interest in missions\, and hopefully promote awareness of and engagement with NAB International Missions and missionaries. \nThis pop-event will take place 6:30–8:00 p.m. on September 30\, 2026\, at 18th Street Church (formerly Trinity Baptist Church) in Sioux Falls\, South Dakota. Refreshments will be served. \n\n \n \n International Missions Pop-Up\n Let us know if you're coming so we can plan well. \n \n EmailThis field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.Name(Required)\n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n \n Email(Required)\n \n Enter Email\n \n \n \n Confirm Email\n \n \n \n Church(Required)\n Submit \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Δ

DESCRIPTION:From Buildings to Neighbourhoods is a 4-week workshop series where we will begin to discover and discern what God might be up to in our neighbourhoods and how we might join the Spirit on God’s mission right where we live. \nEach 90-minute session will be faciliated by Karen Wilk\, a member of the NAB Missional Initiatives Team. We will learn and reflect on simple practices\, including listening to God through the text\, one another\, and our neighbours\, and committing to small ‘experiments’ that help us recognize the Kingdom of God come near. \nFor more information or to sign up for this series\, email Deb Judas. \nSessions will take place on four consecutive Thursdays (October 22 & 29 and November 5 & 12) starting at 12:30 p.m. (Pacific). \nemail deb

SUMMARY:Riding the Waves of Grief
DESCRIPTION:Join Wayne Stapleton and Parry Stelter as they explore the intersection of Indigenous experience\, grief\, Christian faith\, and reconciliation. The hour-long conversation will begin with Parry’s personal and family story as an Indigenous Christian\, including the intergenerational impact of residential schools\, broken family relationships\, cultural loss\, racism\, and the enduring grief these experiences have produced within Indigenous communities. \nFrom there\, the dialogue will broaden to consider grief as a shared human experience\, including the ways both Indigenous and non-Indigenous individuals carry loss\, broken relationships\, misunderstanding\, and mistrust. The conversation will then explore how the Gospel speaks into grief – through a Jesus who weeps\, enters human sorrow\, invites the weary to come to him\, and promises that suffering will not have the final word. \nFinally\, Wayne and Parry will consider what faithful Christian reconciliation can look like today: telling the truth about history\, listening before attempting to lead\, developing genuine relationships rather than simply creating programs\, confronting racism and paternalism\, distinguishing the Gospel from cultural colonization\, and recognizing that God may already be at work in people and communities before Christians arrive. \nDrawing particularly from Peter and Cornelius in Acts 10\, the conversation will invite Christians to approach cross-cultural ministry with humility – prepared not only to share Christ but also to listen\, learn\, build relationships\, and allow God to transform them through the encounter. \nRegister for the conversation

SUMMARY:From Programs to Practices
DESCRIPTION:During this 90-minute workshop\, we will begin the conversation of what it means – and why it is essential – for us to move away from efficient\, results-driven church models toward slower\, relational\, Spirit-led ways of being. Rather than eliminating programs\, we are wanting to reorient our focus: to be formed into the likeness of Christ. \nTogether\, we will discuss what this might look like\, by thinking through ideas such as: \n\nMoving from performance to formation.\nMoving from activity to apprenticeship.\nMovement from believing to being sent out.\nReflection on who and what is forming your people and who do you want them to become.\nHow spiritual practices that shape us over time and help us discern where God is already at work and how we might join him there.\nHow we do this as the people of God together.\n\n \nJoin Deb Judas and Luke Miller from the Missional Initiatives Team on November 19 as they facilitate this conversation. \nFor more information or to sign up for this webinar\, contact Deb Judas. \nemail deb

SUMMARY:Fit Assessment: February 2027
\n  \nThere is an upcoming Fit Assessment taking place February 9-11 in SoCal (exact church location coming soon). \nContact Carissa Steinhart with any questions!

SUMMARY:Sending Church Cohort: Spring 2027
DESCRIPTION:The NAB’s Sending Church Cohort is a peer-led cohort that meets twice in one year on location at two of our sending churches to learn from their triumphs and mistakes in sending out multipliers. Stu Streeter\, VP of Church Multiplication and Ministry Advancement\, hosts the gathering\, but the core of training\, discussion\, and workshopping is led by the pastors and leaders of the host churches. This is an opportunity to learn at the feet of NAB leaders who are actively sending out church plants\, campus launches\, and revitalization efforts. \nThe first gathering of the 2027 Sending Church will take place in Detroit\, Michigan\, alongside Pastor Jason Coplen from Crosspointe Christian Church and their church planter\, Charles Getz. \nFall dates and location are still in process but will be finalized soon! \nWe are so committed to the process that the NAB International Office covers all the cost of the cohort once you arrive in the host city. Simply let us know you’re interested by emailing Carissa Steinhart: csteinhart@nabconf.org

SUMMARY:FUSE Trip to the Philippines
DESCRIPTION:The next NAB Gateway FUSE trip is happening next summer\, July 27–August 10 in the Philippines. \nFor decades\, Gateway has led short-term mission teams that consisted of people from multiple churches brought together on a single team\, which is why we call them FUSE Teams. These teams typically have have members from across North America and beyond (we’ve had FUSE Team members come from as far and wide as South Korea and Singapore). \nThis FUSE trip will be partnering with the Bicol Center for Christian leadership\, led by NAB missionaries Claire and Tim Marker. (Find out more about the various ministries they lead at BCCL.) \nIf you will be age 17 to mid-20s by July 2027 and interested in learning firsthand what international mission work is all about\, we invite you to apply for this FUSE trip. You can find out more on the FUSE Team page. \napply for fuse: philippines
