Dear NAB leaders, pastors, and friends, I want to inform you of a significant transition on the Executive Team of the NAB International Office. Early this week, Tony Dunaway submitted his resignation as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the North American Baptist Conference. The effective date of his resignation is August 31, 2014.
NAB Russia Update Norman Poehlke Vice President of Ministry Outreach NAB has two distinct ministries in Russia. The one you are likely most familiar with is our partnership with Moscow Theological Seminary to send NAB pastors and professors to teach various two week courses as part of their seminary curriculum. The courses offered at various campuses throughout Russia is an outgrowth of the work started at the Russia Bible School in Rostov many years ago. This ministry continues to make a significant contribution to the church in Russia. But NAB has also been part of a separate leadership development initiative for the past two years.
Call to Prayer Please continue to pray for the North American Baptist Conference regularly throughout the months of May and June. As you seek to abide with Christ, be reminded that in him we can bear much fruit. Pray in the coming weeks for additional international missionaries for our NAB fields.
The International Office has recently announced the resignation of Gord and Denise Erickson from their position as "Hostel Parents" in Younde, Cameroon. The Ericksons have served for three years in this position. In addition to the love and guidance they have provided for missionary children, Gord has also overseen the construction of the new hostel house for students and the basement apartment for NAB teachers. We so appreciate this family and the lasting contribution they have made into many students' lives.
A call to prayer is an invitation to intimacy. A call to prayer is a passion for his presence. A call to prayer is a cry for his character. A call to prayer is a desire for dependency. A call to prayer is a longing for his leading. Please watch this brief video where Dan Hamil, NAB interim executive director, asks that all individuals, churches, mission fields, and cooperating organizations connected with the North American Baptist Conference set aside time in the months of May and June for prayer for our conference of churches, its pastors, missionaries, and ministries.
As Easter approaches, here are four NAB prayer requests:
Annually, the North American Baptist Conference provides individuals and churches a way to support our international missions endeavors through our Spring (Easter) Missions Offering.
LEADERSHIP TELECONFERENCE  >>  The next NAB Leadership Teleconference will feature pastor and author Don Cousins who will lead us through a discussion of his book, Leadershift. This teleconference gathering is open to all NAB leaders, pastors, and guests. Why not gather a group of three or four leaders, read and discuss this book together, and then join other NAB leaders for a dynamic discussion with Don Cousins about leadership and the church today.
Here are four positive happenings in NAB for which you can praise God!
