Cameroon Education

Cameroon – Health Training School Textbooks and Subscriptions
Goal: $2,000
Your gift will go toward providing educational materials to support the Health Board training program for nurses, lab techs, and other health personnel.

Cameroon – Hearts for the Deaf
$250 annually per child
At the Mbingo School for the Deaf, hearing-impaired children have the opportunity to be educated and integrated into society. Contributions help offset living and tuition expenses of the two hundred students at the school. Each gift goes a long way.

Cameroon – Integrated School for the Blind
$250 annually per student
The Integrated School for the Blind began in 1981 to assist children with visual impairments. Promoting sustainable livelihood, the school operates a four-year program for beginners that prepares students to function in a seeing world. In these four years, the students learn daily living skills through mobility and orientation training. They also learn to read and write Braille. All students regardless of age begin in this program. Once they are confident and competent in their skills, they move onto mainstream schools. Currently there are seventeen students in the beginner class and forty-seven students in mainstream schools where ISFB teachers provide support in translating materials into Braille.

Cameroon – Primary School Teacher Training
Goal: $200 per teacher
Well-trained teachers can make a real difference in the lives of the students in the Cameroon Baptist Convention’s primary school system. Your $200 gift will provide important training a primary school teacher and will ultimately lead to students receiving a better education.

Cameroon – Restore Primary Schools
Goal: $1,000 per school.
Over 40 percent of Cameroon’s 20 million people are under the age of fifteen. With this many children seeking and needing education, there is a continual challenge to maintain school infrastructure. Many schools have leaking roofs, mud floors, and inadequate desks. Your gift will help to provide conducive learning environments for children attending the Cameroon Baptist Convention’s more than eighty primary schools.

Cameroon Healthcare

Cameroon – Chemotherapy Treatments
$600 per treatment course
One course of chemotherapy is equal to half a year’s wage for the average Cameroon laborer. Your gift of $600 will subsidize the cost and make this life-saving treatment available to patients in need.

Cameroon – HIV/AIDS Chosen Children
$250 annually per child
Funds provide education and health support for children orphaned by HIV/AIDS and other disasters and diseases. The children are placed with caregivers in their communities rather than in an orphanage. The suggested donation of $250 annually per child is the minimum necessary to support these children in need.

Cameroon – Pathology Training
Goal: $20,000
This project assists in the training of an African pathologist. Having a pathologist on the Mbingo campus gives the hospital the ability to do lab work on site, providing quality and timely test results for patient care.

Cameroon – Prayer House – Life Abundant Primary Health Care Centre
Goal: $3,000
The Life Abundant Primary Health Care program reaches into some of the remotest corners of Cameroon with basic health care and the Gospel of Christ. Trained village workers from these remote areas come to LAP Central for regular training and spiritual retreat. With prayer a strong, central focus of the LAP work since its inception, a quiet place on campus—designated for worship, prayer, and meditation—is greatly needed. A conducive round structure, to be built in a naturally treed setting, has been designed to fill this need. The prayer house will also be available to individuals and groups that seek a place for spiritual retreat.

Cameroon Miscellaneous

Cameroon – Assist a National Missionary
$1,000 annually per national missionary (suggested)
Cameroonian national missionaries are teaching the least-reached peoples of Cameroon. While Cameroon Christians support the basic salaries of these missionaries, most have no ministry funds. Contributions will provide these national missionaries with Bibles, literature, or even a motorcycle in order to reach the people to whom they were sent.

Cameroon – Friends of the Fulbe
Evangelism, education, and community development are the three priority projects of the Fulbe ministry. For Christian Fulbe, bringing the Good News about Jesus to other Fulbe people is the ultimate goal, but the three priorities are interconnected, with no single project progressing without the other two also moving ahead. Education and community development are entered into strategically so that the Gospel will be promoted. All together, these projects are leading to lives transformed by Jesus Christ to the glory of God.

Cameroon Theological Education

Cameroon – Kumba Seminary Classrooms
Goal: $6,000
At the Cameroon Baptist Convention Seminary in Kumba, the classroom building is only partially completed. As the student enrollment has grown, more classrooms are needed. Classes are currently held in rooms with no ceiling, windows, or doors. A donation of $1,200 will complete one classroom.

Cameroon – Ndu Seminary Work/Study Program
Goal: $10,000
Many seminary students do not have sufficient funds to cover their education expenses. By working to help maintain the large school campus, they can earn money that is applied to their tuition. Contributions are used to pay these students who work maintenance jobs.

Cameroon – Theological Education by Extension
Goal: $4,000
Many Christian lay leaders and rural pastors do not have the opportunity to attend institutional Bible training. Theological Education by Extension provides Bible, evangelism, and leadership training by correspondence / small group teaching. Contributions are used to subsidize the cost of textbooks for the students.

East Asia

East Asia – Education Scholarships
Goal: $2,700
Extreme poverty among a minority ethnic group in East Asia makes basic education unaffordable. This fund will support one widow raising four children so they will not be forced to withdraw from school. Staff will continue ministering to this minority group while ensuring that your gifts meet this foundational need.

Japan – Evangelism and Ministry Materials

North America – Bibles for Outreach and Discipleship
For many people in inner-city Philadelphia, a Bible is a luxury. Your gift of $30 or more will provide God’s Word to seekers and new believers.

North America – One Bag of Groceries
The needy in inner-city Philadelphia find food, supplies, and loving hearts at Christian Compassion Baptist Church, a small NAB congregation sharing Christ’s love with others. A gift of $30 will help feed those in need.

North America – Twenty-Five Meals for the Homeless
New Life Ministries provides the homeless and disenfranchised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, with food, emergency shelter, transitional housing, and the message of Christ. A gift of $60 will supply food to those who have none.

Philippines

Philippines – Bicol Center for Christian Leadership Field Operating Budget
Goal: $30,000
The Bicol Center for Christian Leadership trains pastors, evangelists, and church leaders. It is led entirely by Philippine nationals, who are assisted by volunteer, short-term lecturers from North America. The BCCL is funded through special projects. Gifts to General Support go toward items such as travel, teachers, training materials, event costs, resources, evangelistic outreach, and ministry development.

Romania

Romania – Camp Falcon Rock
Camp Falcon Rock is a 60-acre property purchased by the generous support of NAB churches and donors in 2000. It will be used for evangelism, discipleship, and leadership development, where children, young adults, and families will have a place to grow.
