Ministry Focus

  • Provide pastoral care and leadership for Spanish Congregation and outreach into local Spanish-speaking community.
  • Glorify God through worship, teaching, and relationships that lead people closer to Christ.
  • Lead and oversee all aspects of the Spanish Ministry, including vision, direction, and administration.
  • Equip and support volunteers to grow as disciples and leaders.
  • Partner with church leaders, pastors, and lay leaders to resource and strengthen ministry.
  • Create a Christ-centered community of love, belonging, and acceptance.
  • Empower the congregation to use their spiritual gifts in service and discipleship.

 

Key Responsibilities

Worship and Teaching

  • Plan and lead weekly Spanish worship services, including preaching, teaching, and curriculum selection.
  • Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers for worship and leadership roles.
  • Provide resources and materials for Sunday services and Bible studies.
  • Communicate ministry needs with church staff and leaders.
  • Encourage connections between the Spanish and larger congregations through fellowship and service.

 

Outreach and Community Engagement

  • Lead outreach efforts into the local Spanish-speaking community.
  • Partner with local organizations to serve and minister to Spanish-speaking families.
  • Create bilingual or cultural bridge-building opportunities to connect the Spanish and English congregations.
  • Organize service projects and mission trips that extend ministry impact.

 

Pastoral Care

  • Provide prayer, counseling, and visitation for members, visitors, and those unable to attend in person.
  • Preach and teach as part of the FBC Teaching Team.
  • Build strong relationships with the congregation through regular contact (calls, texts, email, etc.).
  • Care for people with compassion and empathy across diverse backgrounds.
  • Manage the Spanish Ministry budgets; promote generosity and fundraising.
  • Review ministry programs and resources regularly, improving where needed.
  • Share regular updates and reports with church leadership.

 

General Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Available to work days, nights, and weekends as required.
  • Assist with planning, implementing, executing other church-wide events as required.
  • Promote a positive, Holy Spirit-led, biblically based work environment.
  • All other duties, responsibilities, and tasks as required and needed during the course of ministry or the needs of the Pastors and Staff.

Requirements and Qualifications

Spiritual and Leadership Qualities

  • 5+ years of pastoral or ministry leadership experience required.
  • Formal theological or pastoral education preferred, but not required.
  • Demonstrates servant leadership, humility, and a willingness to serve in all areas of ministry.
  • Actively growing in Christian faith and committed to spiritual maturity.
  • Displays wisdom, discernment, and integrity in decision-making and daily life.
  • Agrees with the Statement of Faith of FBC Lodi.
  • Willing to partner with English ministries to strengthen the whole church body.

 

Cultural Competency

  • High proficiency in Spanish (oral and written) and able to minister cross-culturally.
  • Deep understanding of Latino culture and ability to build bridges between Spanish- and English-speaking communities.

 

Other Job-Related Requirements

  • Strong ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds with compassion and empathy.
  • Proficient in Spanish (oral and written) and able to serve in cross-cultural settings.
  • Able to sit, stand, bend, kneel, and move as needed. Able to lift up to 25 lbs. and use standard office equipment.
  • Comfortable using phone, computer, and digital communication tools.
  • Committed to ongoing professional and ministry development.
