Children’s Pastor or Ministry Coordinator – Pilgrim Church
Pilgrim Church is hiring a children’s pastor or children’s ministry coordinator to help children encounter Jesus in a church that values thoughtful faith, hospitality, and community.
At Pilgrim Church, we believe children aren’t “the future”—they are full participants in the life of faith, right now. We’re looking for someone to guide our Sunday morning children’s ministry (ages 0–11), bringing warmth, creativity, and Christ-centered discipleship to our youngest members.
This could be a pastoral role if you’re theologically trained or exploring a call to ministry—or a coordinator role if you’re a gifted leader with a passion for children and team-building. Either way, you’ll be joining a kind, thoughtful, intergenerational community committed to walking the Way of Jesus in a complex and beautiful world. This role can flex to fit you. We’re open to shaping the role depending on your experience, skillset, calling, and availability.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Plan and lead weekly Sunday kids programming.
- Build, schedule, and support volunteer leaders.
- Communicate clearly with families and integrate children into church life.
- Maintain safety and welcome in all areas of kids ministry.
- Engage in personal and professional development.
- Join occasional staff meetings and help shape Pilgrim’s ministry rhythm.
Requirements and Qualifications
You Might Be a Great Fit If. . .
- You love Jesus and want kids to grow up knowing they are deeply loved.
- You care more about spiritual formation than flashy programming.
- You’re reliable and organized, but people-first and flexible.
- You value hospitality, play, and community.
- You’re comfortable working 10–15 hours/week and helping build something meaningful.
Successful applicants must affirm our statement of faith, be eligible to work in Canada, and have a satisfactory vulnerable-sector check.
Bonus If You. . .
- Have experience in education, ministry, or child development.
- Are studying theology or spiritual formation.
- Love working in diverse, intergenerational communities.
- Think deeply, listen well, and know how to tell a great story.
Special Notes
This role is 10–15 hours per week, starting spring/summer 2025 at $24–28 per hour.
