Director/Associate Pastor of Children and Family Ministries – Quail Lakes Baptist Church

Children’s Ministry

  • Work closely with the Children’s Ministry Commission, staff team, and volunteers to achieve the vision and goals as they pertain to the ministry.
  • Work closely with the Commission, staff team and volunteers to provide quality mobilization and training programs for Children’s Ministry workers.
  • Oversee all aspects of the Children’s Ministry program of the church toward children, infant through sixth grade.
  • Supervise the Children’s Ministry paid program staff in the relevant areas.
  • Keep current with family and educational trends.
  • Work with the Commission in the establishment of an annual budget recommendation.
  • Work as a part of the church Ministry Staff team.
  • Schedule Commission meetings and maintain current Commission roster.
  • Oversee Day Camp operations and staff.
  • Oversee Hume Lake (or other) children’s summer camp ministry.
  • Maintain consistent contact with the children within the education program through direct program involvement as appropriate.

 

Family Ministry

  • Work with the Commission to create and mobilize family ministry programs.
  • Oversee Family Ministry special events.
  • Develop and oversee ongoing parenting education programs.
  • Develop and deploy family-oriented GO Projects.

 

General Responsibilities

  • Offer pastoral counseling and guidance to children and parents.
  • Ministerial duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Born-again follower of Jesus Christ.
  • Have a love for children and parents and a desire to see them grow as disciples of Jesus Christ.
  • Possess an ability to work with volunteers in an equipping and mobilizing capacity.
  • Self-starter, not needing constant supervision; multi-task personality.
  • College graduate (preferred).
  • Seminary graduate with specialty in Christian Education (preferred).
  • Flexible schedule.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Computer skills.
  • Have a “team” focus.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to train and manage teams of people in order that they work toward a desired end result.
  • Experience in a local church staff setting (preferred).
  • Spiritual gifts of teaching, administration and encouragement.

Special Notes

Compensation

  • Salary as set by the Personnel Commission in cooperation with the Board of Elders.
  • Professional Reimbursements and mileage payments as set by the Personnel Commission in cooperation with the Board of Elders.
  • Housing Allowance designation (if applicable).
  • Dental and life insurance.
  • Medical insurance for member and family as conforming to the insurance plans offered.
  • Social Security withholding payments (unless Ministerial Staff member).
  • Holidays in accordance with church policy.
  • Vacation
    • Less than 5 years full time – 3 weeks paid
    • 5 years or more full time – 4 weeks paid
  • Pay is on the 15th and 30th of each month.
  • Employer contribution to the 403(b) retirement program as set by Personnel Commission, in cooperation with Elders.
  • Worker’s compensation.

 

Professional Reimbursements

Funds for professional reimbursements are provided for up to $3,500 annual, and conference reimbursements is up to $1,200 annually.
