In Matthew 25, Jesus tells the parable of the sheep and the goats. He states that when His followers feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, welcome the stranger, cloth the naked, care for the sick, and look after the prisoner, they are performing these deeds to Christ Himself.

Beginning in November 2019, the NAB family was given the opportunity to live this parable out with our brothers and sisters in the Cameroon Baptist Convention due to the ongoing civil unrest in the English-speaking regions of Cameroon. As presented in the attached report, “The conflict has resulted in approximately 3,000 deaths, 50,000 refugees, close to 700,000 internally displaced persons, and over 600,000 prevented from attending school for 2+ years. Over 200 villages have been burned.”

In partnership with other missionary organizations, such as Converge and World Team, the NAB helped raise nearly $200,000 USD to help the Cameroon Baptist Convention meet the needs caused by this crisis; over 70 percent of these funds were raised by the generosity of our NAB family!

The full report details where the funds were directed for the thousands of individuals who were assisted with medical bills, education costs, trauma care, food, clothing, and so much more. Each of these is a story of the hungry being fed, the thirsty receiving drink, the stranger being welcomed, the naked being clothed, the sick being cared for, and the prisoner being looked after. In other words, in literally thousands of ways this report is about Christ being ministered to and glorified by your generosity. It is not a report about numbers; it is a report of the Gospel being proclaimed and the inbreaking of the Kingdom of God into this present age. It is a report of God providing peace in the midst of chaos and light in the midst of darkness.

On behalf of the NAB and in unison with our brothers and sisters in the Cameroon Baptist Convention, thank you. Thank you for your generosity. Thank you for serving and glorifying Christ in this way. Thank you for your ongoing partnership in the proclamation of the Gospel and the inbreaking of the Kingdom.

The work in Cameroon continues. There is currently no end in sight for the conflict; pray that God would intercede in a supernatural way. But let us not grow weary in doing good.
