Church Planter – Steamboat Rock Baptist Church

Steamboat Rock Baptist Church and the Upper Mississippi Region of churches are looking for a person to partner with in planting a church in rural Iowa.

Requirements and Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Participate in a church planter assessment (paid for by the North American Baptist Conference).
• Lead through a prayerful process of discovery and discernment to seek out where God would want to plant the next church.
• Establish a vision agreement with the NAB and Upper Mississippi Region (UMR).
• Fundraise a portion of your salary while starting, or serve bi-vocationally.
• Live and work in the mission area of the plant.
• Cast the vision for the new congregation.

Qualifications

• Spiritual vitality and maturity
• Ability to communicate clearly
• Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred
• Love for people
• Model healthy relationships and biblical marriage convictions
• Call to rural Iowa life and rural Iowa people
• History of godly leadership
• History of personal evangelism
• Support the NAB Statement of Beliefs and Statement on Marriage
• Commitment to planting a church that will help plant future churches

Special Notes

Support Offered

• Guidance through mentoring and coaching from an experienced coach
• Support of other like-minded UMR churches and pastors and the UMR regional minister
• Support with administration and establishing constitution and by laws
• Financial support of up to $75,000 from Steamboat Rock Baptist Church, the UMR, and the NAB combined, over two to three years, tied to agreed milestones toward your vision
• Opportunity to share your vision, recruit volunteers and team members, and raise financial support from members of Steamboat Rock Baptist Church and other UMR congregations
• Relocation expenses reimbursed (up to $10,000) from Steamboat Rock Baptist Church
