Job Vision

  • To work under the direction of the site pastor to shepherd the Connors Hill congregation, nurturing growth in worship, community, and mission.
  • To lead initiatives to build community within the church and facilitate opportunities for service.
  • To oversee Central Missions.
  • To be actively growing in love for God, other believers, and unbelievers and have the gifting and passion to lead others with humility and servant-hearted confidence.

Requirements and Qualifications

Key Areas of Leadership

  • Partner with the Site Pastor. Work closely with the site pastor as a member of the Connors Hill Ministry Staff team. Share ownership of ministry areas identified by the site pastor, actively fostering growth and excellence. Maintain a joyful willingness to assist in any area necessary for the good of the church.
  • Cultivate Community. Lead welcoming and connecting ministries in line with the site pastor’s vision. Develop welcome teams and expand small group ministry to grow relationships. Organize events to build community, and help each person find a place to belong.
  • Strengthen Serve Teams. Develop leaders and teams to effectively serve the church community. Implement systems to help individuals discover and use their spiritual gifts. Facilitate clear pathways for people to lead and serve in Central’s ministry.
  • Lead Central Missions. Lead the Missions Team in the effort to stay connected with and provide support for Central’s supported missionaries and organizations, both local and international. Manage missions budget in alignment with the broader vision of Central. Connect with and encourage those considering international missions, and be the primary point of contact for visiting missionaries.
  • Be a Pastor. Provide pastoral support to individuals and households. Carry out pastoral responsibilities, such as weddings, funerals, and baptisms. Cultivate a culture of care, prayer, and genuine connection within the community.

 

Expectations and Qualifications

  • Personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Affirmation of Central’s Statement of Beliefs and membership upon joining staff.
  • Demonstration of qualities outlined in 1 Timothy 3 for Christian elders/pastors.
  • Alignment with and active support of Central’s heart, mission and priorities.
  • Loyal, honest, humble, teachable, flexible, and dependable.
  • Gifted leadership with a passion for loving, caring for, and discipling others.
  • Strong organizational skills, initiative, and decision-making abilities.
  • Capacity to work effectively on teams within a multi-site, multi-staff setting.
  • Commitment to pursuing relationships or group involvement for personal accountability.
  • Participation in weekly staff meetings with deep engagement and humility.
  • Regular meetings with the Connors Hill site pastor for encouragement and coaching.
  • Extensive and active pastoral experience within a church or Christian ministry.
  • Possession of a bachelor’s degree (minimum), with a master’s degree preferred.
