As of March 31, 2025, the NAB International Mission Department and the NAB Cameroon Field will sadly say good-bye to our long-time missionary doctor and Internal Medicine specialist and program director, Dr. Julie Stone. After giving her life to this work for thirty-two years, Dr. Stone is coming to the conclusion of her final missionary term with the NAB, and the conclusion of her ministry in Cameroon. As you can imagine, Dr. Stone’s accomplishments are many over the course of more than three decades, but this quote from her last newsletter shows where her heart has always been (and continues to be) during her years of service:
My greatest joy, however, has been to open the Word of God with doctors and nurses as we strive to meet the day-to-day needs of patients and deal with the logistical challenges of a resource-limited setting. It has been very interesting over the years to talk with patients about their spiritual needs – whether they be Christian, Muslim, or adherents of African Traditional Religion – seeking to point them to the Truth found in Christ Jesus alone. The Cameroonian people are ever gracious and resilient – as evidenced by those in the Anglophone regions who continue to deal with the effects of a conflict that has entered its ninth year.
As you have opportunity to do so, we’d also encourage you to read Dr. Stone’s last few newsletters, where you can read how Julie’s past ministry is now in the capable hands of Cameroonian physicians such as Dr. David Sunday, director of Cameroon Internal Medicine Specialization; this is truly a statement of how Dr. Stone’s work through the years has been focused on passing her skills on to Cameroonians to continue. As NAB International Missions says goodbye to Dr. Stone at the conclusion of her Cameroonian ministry, we want to thank all of you – churches, families, and individuals – who have faithfully supported her throughout her missionary career. Your support of her is greatly appreciated! Thank you!
We would also encourage you to consider continuing your support for what God is up to through NAB International Missions by giving to NAB missionaries to the Philippines, Claire and Tim Marker. They are in need of financial partners as they transition from being Global Missionary Partners with the NAB to full-time missionaries. Thank you for considering the Markers in your ongoing support.
And thank you so much for your continued support of NAB missions and what God is doing around the world. If you have any questions or wish to talk about moving your financial support to other NAB missionaries – or Global Missionary Partners – who need it, please reach out to Randy Schmor, interim VP of International Missions, or Caryn Young, director of Administration for International Missions. Thank you, and God bless!
Every year, we invite every NAB church to set aside the Sunday before Palm Sunday as Spring Missions Sunday, a day to share stories of what God is up to through NAB International Missions and raise money to support NAB missionaries in fields around the world.
This year, Spring Mission Sunday is scheduled for April 6, 2025.
To help you and your church in preparation for Spring Missions Sunday (www.springmissions.com), we have made a few resources available for you to use, including a widescreen and standard slides, bulletin inserts, and even social media graphics and a variety of logos for this year’s Spring Missions Offering. Click on the links below to find the Spring Missions Offering and the Spring Missions Sunday resources.
Additionally, if you would like personalized resources, or can’t find something you think would be helpful for your church, reach out to us by the end of day today, March 20, and we will do our best to get you what you need.
Spring Missions Sunday Resources
The 2025 season of Lent is well underway, and for many the NAB Lent devotionals are proving to be a key component as we collectively prepare our hearts for and look toward the cross and the empty tomb on Easter Sunday. It is not too late to start receiving this daily dose of Scriptures and reflection from pastors and leaders from across the NAB.
These devotionals, written by pastors and leaders from across the NAB, are designed to help us look at the story of the cross and the larger redemptive narrative through the lens of unity. At the link below, you will find materials to help you promote the devotionals in your church or small group. Additionally, the full devotional series is now available to download!
It’s not too late to register for the next Multipliers Summit or Bonfire, just two events taking place during Super Week 2025. Each year in the spring, a handful of key events for NAB leaders from across the conference take place all in the same week in Chicago, Illinois.
Be sure to join us April 27 – May 2 for Multipliers Summit and Bonfire!
