Lee & Beta Taylor head to the Olympics
We are excited to have Lee and Beta join us today at the International Office. This past year, they have been serving at the Rain Forest International School in Cameroon. Their ministry has been invaluable and made an eternal impact on the lives of the individuals they had the privilege of working with.
Doubtlessly they have many stories to share about the friendships they’ve built, the conversations they’ve had about God on the volleyball court, and the interactions they’ve had with students about what it means to follow Jesus. Most recently, Lee and Beta were invited to travel with the Cameroon national volleyball team as interpreters at the Olympic Games in Rio. This amazing opportunity to share Christ with athletes will bring a close to their year of ministry in Cameroon.
Stories like this best illustrate how God is working in the Cameroonian people and how willing Christ-followers like Lee and Beta can be used to support this movement in ways none of us ever imagined. It is encouraging to see God doing immeasurably more than we could have ever hoped for when Lee and Beta first set out for Cameroon nearly a year ago.
Strategy Team in Kananaskis Next Week
Beginning Monday of next week, the NAB Strategy Team will meet in Kananaskis, Alberta, to continue discussions on how our renewed theological vision of God on mission is shaping our strategies for church planting, leadership formation, and cross-cultural engagement in Canada and the United States. We are pleased to have some time with leaders from both Excel Leadership Network and C2C Network, our two church planting network partners who are assisting the NAB in creating effective systems for fruitful planting both now and in the years to come. The entire team would covet your prayers as they meet and depend on the Spirit’s leading for continued unity and collaboration among all of our partners in the NAB family.
July 10, 2016—Pastor Phil Long, Reverb, Rapid City, South Dakota. Since 2012, Pastor Phil and his wife, Robin, have led Reverb, an NAB church plant that seeks to provide a safe place for people to explore and grow in a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and with one another. Their mission is to reverberate the hope of Christ, and one of the ways they do this is through serving their community, especially Lakota Homes, a low-income housing development made up primarily of Native Americans from the reservation.
