Last week, September 7 through 12, mission leaders from around the NAB met for Global Summit 2025 in Rostrevor, Northern Ireland.
The Missions Advisory Team (MAT) hosted the summit, which was attended by the field directors and other mission leaders from around the NAB. We spent time in worship, prayer, and fellowship, sharing laughter and tears as we heard stories of God’s work around the world.
Missiologist Evelyn Hibbert shared from her extensive research in missions and guided our small group discussions. Our conversations revolved around several questions:
- What is missions, and what is our mission?
- Who is a missionary?
- How can local churches become more engaged in God’s work around the world?
- How do we connect with the next generation of leaders?
These conversations helped us to understand each other better as mission leaders, to understand other contexts more deeply, to celebrate God’s work in our lives and in the ministries where we serve, and to know how to pray more effectively for each other.
One of our afternoons together was spent in Belfast learning about The Troubles – the thirty years of conflicts and the peace process that helped end them. We heard stories of restoration, as well as stories of continued mistrust. These stories helped us to think more deeply about relationships within our ministry contexts – between people, between organizations, and between people and organizations.
As we look to the future of NAB missions, we are excited about what God has planned. Please continue to pray for your missionaries, the NAB mission fields, the MAT, and the NAB International Missions Department.
