June’s Focus on Shepherding

June’s Focus on Shepherding

This month’s focus is on shepherding, caring for the lives of those entrusted to us by God. Watch the video from Kent Carlson, VP of Leadership Formation, to hear from him why we think this is such an important topic. In the coming weeks, keep an eye out for resources to help us, together, shepherd the people of God who have been entrusted to our care.

Church Planter of the Week

Jesus Rivas, Calvary Baptist Church, Tacoma, Washington. Since Jesus and his wife, Carmelina, moved to Tacoma in 2016 to partner with Calvary Baptist Church in planting a Spanish-speaking congregation, their ministry has blossomed. They have been sharing the Gospel with the surrounding community and serving as the hands and feet of Christ through medical translation, marriage counseling, supporting the youth, providing food, praying, and whatever other opportunities that arise. They baptized twenty-two new believers last year and started local community groups. The past few years, Jesus and Carmelina have also been involved in establishing new house groups in Cuba, with the vision of seeing them spread all across the island. Pray for their ongoing ministry in Tacoma, and ask God to provide missionary volunteers to assist in the movement taking place in Cuba.
