Making a Kingdom Impact

Camp Falcon Rock – Expand

God is up to something through Camp Falcon Rock. This is not a new thing, but it is only in the last few years that we have been able to see the momentum of the past decade begin to build into a force for the Kingdom of God.

If you click on the picture above, you will find a 23-minute documentary about Camp Falcon Rock: how far it has come, where it is planning to go, and above all how God has used and is continuing to use this came in Romania to impact the lives of children who otherwise would likely never get to experience the Gospel in such a tangible and life-altering way.

Camp Falcon Rock is in a season of expanding its reach within Romania to see more young people transformed by the gospel. After nearly a decade of development and ministry, the camp is looking to grow its capacity in hosting young people at its programs. With that, Camp Falcon Rock is looking for $500,000 USD to complete its main lodge and help sponsor kids to come to camp. The first $15,000 USD will go toward sponsoring kids for 2023 summer camps, and everything raised above that will go toward finishing the main lodge project. Your support will help increase the camp facility to host more kids, as well as help subsidize camper fees, allowing more kids to be transformed by the good news of Jesus through the ministry of Camp Falcon Rock.

White Cross News

In a recent newsletter, White Cross Canada shared the fate of some treadle sewing machines that were sent to Cameroon for the vocational training of women and youth. Unlike standard electrical sewing machines, these are powered by a foot-pedal, allowing for their use in areas where electricity isn’t always easy to come by. This is what White Cross Canada had to say:

We have sent more than 10 of them to Cameroon so far, and those quality machines that retired in Canada are back in use at vocational training classes for Internally Displaced people in Cameroon. As we have many sewists, many of us have also contributed to the training by collecting quality sewing notions for them as well. We are grateful for your generosity in sharing what you or your family enjoy with those who are in need of education. Thank you for supporting education by extending your joy!

You can read more about these machines, as well as see a video of a girls sewing class in Ndu, by clicking on the link below.

Reunion – an instance of two or more people coming together again after a period of separation. “Reunion” is an appropriate title for the return of the Retired Workers’ Retreat. In 2020, the annual retreat schedule was prematurely interrupted and abruptly cancelled due to the Covid-19 virus, with no known return. After a long period of separation, it is time to once again gather together for one last retreat and celebrate all the Lord has done.

We are excited to come together again at Cedar Springs Christian Camp, May 15–17, 2023, and make way for some new retired workers events and traditions in 2024. Please join us for this final retreat, reunite with old friends, and meet some new ones. We will be joined by guests Kerry Bender, Harry Kelm, and Amber Pedroni, along with a number of our retiring NAB missionaries. You can find more information at the link below. Registration for the 2023 retreat is now open. We look forward to seeing you there!

Turkey/Syria Relief Fund

For the last few years, the NAB has been developing an ongoing relationship with Horizons International, an organization with people and connections in both Turkey and Syria, including national pastors and leaders. This relationship has been growing and developing since Kerry Bender, VP of International Missions; Randy Schmor, director of Gateway; and Dana Goodnough, regional minister for the Eastern Association, completed a vision trip to Horizons in 2020.

We are blessed to be able to partner with Horizons in their relief effort following the February 6 earthquake that hit both Turkey and Syria. When you donate to the NAB’s World Relief – Turkey/Syria Earthquake Assistance, you are supporting the current disaster relief effort of Horizons International.

You can give via text message by texting the amount followed by “Turkey” to one of the following numbers:

  • Canada – (204) 400-2238
  • US – (916) 249-0534

You can also give by following the link below, where you’ll find stories from some of the Horizon staff and see pictures of the relief work.
