We are proud to announce that this year’s Planter Summit will be led by Tim Morey. The founding and lead pastor of Life Covenant Church in Torrance, California, Morey serves as an adjunct professor teaching church planting at Fuller Theological Seminary, where he also earned his DMin. He is also a church planting assessor, trainer, coach, and author. His latest book, Planting a Church Without Losing Your Soul, explores, in part, how church planters can become people who invest in their own physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual health. We are absolutely thrilled he will be joining us.The Planter Summit will be taking place September 26–28 in Chicago, Illinois, and is open to all planters with the NAB – or those considering planting a church with the NAB. It is a time to invest in you, your soul, and the soul of your spouse and focus on the formational issues at the heart of a new church, regardless of whether you’re building missional communities, launching traditionally, or doing something different altogether. All who attend Planter Summit are also invited to stay for the Bonfire, September 27–29. Registration for both events opens May 19.
We are also excited to announce that Scot McKnight will be joining us for this year’s Bonfire! McKnight is the author of more than thirty books, including Kingdom Conspiracy and A Fellowship of Differents. He is a professor of New Testament at Northern Seminary and holds a Ph.D. from the University of Nottingham. He is a recognized authority on the New Testament, early Christianity, and the historicity of Jesus. It is an absolute privilege to have him help guide us through our time together at this year’s Bonfire. This year’s Bonfire will be September 27–29 in Chicago, Illinois, and is open to all who have gone through Blue Ocean, Light Blue Ocean, Year of Bonfire, or Ethos. This is a treasured time for leaders across the NAB to gather together to reflect on the missional/formational journey we are on as a conference and to reconnect with ministry friends, make new ones, and deepen the relationships among this community of leaders. All Bonfire attendees are also invited to come a day early to sit in on the Planter Summit happening September 27–29. Registration for both events opens May 19.
