NAB around the Globe

Gateway equips churches for ministry in Romania

Eleven Romania team members from Wisconsin and Idaho carried out two ESL/VBS camps a day for an entire week in the villages of Simleu Silvaniei and Boghis as they were hosted by Pastor Pal Szekrenyes of the Hungarian Baptist Union of Romania. The team faithfully served Roma and Hungarian children as well as participated in seven worship services over the course of their mission trip.

Strategy Team Success

Last week about thirty leaders representing the NAB met for Strategy meetings in Kananaskis, Alberta, (thirty minutes west of Calgary). They spent a short amount of time reviewing the progress in two of our NAB priorities (Missional Training and Leadership Formation) and then devoted the majority of their time to the third of our current priorities, Church Planting. The NAB has entered into formal partnership with two national church planting networks: Excel to serve our US churches and C2C to serve our Canadian churches. JD Pearring, executive director of Excel, and Gord Fleming, national director of C2C, were both with the team for this day of networking and training. On the final day of meetings, Dr. David Williams of Taylor Seminary in Edmonton led the group through a book discussion on Roadmap to Reconciliation by Brenda Salter McNeil.

We are so thankful for the sense of unity and joyful camaraderie that we share together as we seek to discern and walk God’s path for the NAB.

July 24, 2016 — Stuart Streeter, Disciples Church, Folsom, California. Pastor Stu began Disciples Church in 2009, and it has since thrived. They moved into a new building in 2014 and started having two Sunday services last year. The church also travels to Guatemala twice a year. Pray for those who are in Guatemala this week working in the largest slum in Central America, La Limonada. They are partnering with three different ministries while there. Ask God to use them to show love to the people in that community. For more information, visit http://www.discipleschurch.net
